    A Second Grasshopper-1-32 Scale 95th Rifles Part 2

Way back in May 2019 I joined a group build called 'Bought at Cosford for a Fiver' which was great fun. It was only my second GB and sadly has not been run since, because Cosford has not happened since...!
Only the one figure qualified as bought at Cosford ( for £2.50- bargain!) but I wanted to make a vignette showing how the Rifles worked in pairs, one firing while the other re-loaded. So I put together the beginnings of a second figure from the spares box.

The frosty effect is unintentional too dry spraying of the matt lacquer doh! :rolling: I hope I don't feel the need to strip and re-do him once I've finished his mate.
Here's the link for anyone who's interested.

As evidenced by the titIe of the thread I never finished the second figure and he has been languishing on the Shelf of Doom for almost 4 years!
    Until now, that is.
Here are the development pics with minimal commentary.

I realised I'd made his shoulders a bit too 'Gym Bunny' for 1815 so I altered them

And that's where I left him for four whole years.
I had been thinking I ought to finish him from time to time but it never happened until earlier this week, I have no idea why, and this is where I have got him to.

I've re-modelled his eyes, added hair, added the jacket skirts ,collar and haversack. I need it to look like it's made of cotton, full of stuff and resting on the ground, not free-standing like a suitcase.
Not much progress, but he is at least back on the bench.
So now I've got three projects on the bench ( I did fill a couple of the Iwo Jima US Marines with left over Milliput from the Fusiliers, but nothing worth posting yet).
    Anyway thanks for watching

More butchery, sorry, surgery. What happens if a 95th rifleman ends up landing at Iwo Jima along with the French guards ? :smiling: Great work, Neil.

My thoughts exactly. Figure painting is a very difficult and specialised part of the hobby. Add figure altering and adapting and the whole business becomes a real dark art.
Look forward to the rest of this.
