just a quick update, the fetlocks are done. I base coated these brown and the yellow and then highlighted with lighter shades going up to white

Hopefully I should get a bit more done this evening

Im going to move on to the mane, this is the mane that I changed and now realise that its not long enough because I lowered the head,

So I made another piece so that it went down to the withers

You can also see that ive painted the front part of the saddle cloth, or should I say yoke cloth, the bottom part is padded leather and the top part would have been sheepskin.

I then wasn't happy with the bit in the middle so I added a bit more

then I had to make the forelock, all of the bits for the mane were made from spru

Ill give the mane another coat of black and then leave it for a while before I start laying the colours on

                    Paul

I'm not into the hobby since long, but this is the first time I see using the sprue like this, well after Budicca's hair. Impressive.

I wanted to know more about Boudicca so i looked into wikipedia and found a text written by a Ancient Rome writer that I liked. Below the English version weakly translated by me.

"She was a woman very tall and with a terrific aspect.

Had ferocious eyes and harsh voice.

The brown red hair flocking over her hips.

As for her clothes she always weared a gold chain and a colorful tunique.

All was covered with an heavy cloak fixed with a pin.

When speaking, she kept a spear in her head that contributed to generate terror in whoever was listening"

From Cassio Dione Cocceiano, Storia romana, 62, 2.

Hi Francesco, there are several different descriptions of the big lady, but most of them say about the same, not sure ill put a spear in her head though.

Spru is a great medium to use and often gets thrown away

Please, don't get the text as a suggestion, go on as you're picturing in your mind!

I thought the text was suggestive to me, well, it was probably more in Italian, and I wanted to share.

Nicely painted Paul. When you've fi.nished with summer be sure to send it this way, a tropical low is now over us with heavy rain. So much for spring.
