OOOOOO The 1/48 Jaguar looks nice... And the Stalwart, might have to grab these when they're released.

Some great stuff planned as far as I’m concerned ?

I’ll definitely be getting a Wessex and I’m really pleased to see that the re-release B-17 comes with the option to build the previous RAF version which I have been looking for.

I’m looking forward to getting a MTB and RAF Rescue Launch too.

I only usually build 1/72 aircraft but will be breaking this habit to get a Jaguar and the Stalwart really interests me ?

      Geoff.

        Hmmmm....not much for me

Ferret is the wrong mark......stolly is wrong variant.....id want the REME version with crane and an engine pack

The jag will sell by the truck load.......for a year or two.....the aftermarket decal/bits industry is already getting into gear

Annoyingly I did have one of these, ready to build, managed to find one about 10 years ago. But then we moved three years ago, and as part of the move downsizing/clearout, it went to a charity shop!

It is, together with the MTB and rescue launch still a good build. If you want a newer more modern kit there is one from meng I think...

That 1:48 Jag is definitely on the hit list.
This month's Airfix mag has a 20-page supplement covering reference photos plus the desert scheme kit build.

Said it before. I don't think Airfix are doing themselves or the modelling community any favours by churning out those 50+ year-old kits. Some may be OK but some will have issues with sprues from ancient, worn out moulds. Any kid starting out with a kit that their grandad remembers fondly building as a kid will probably be very disappointed with the quality and won't continue with the hobby.

Although many of the original kits are hard to find they will probably be better than the recent re-releases. The moulds will give better alignment and less flash. OK the decals may be unusable but that is usually easy to sort.

Of course you're right that early kits would come from moulds which were new so would be better than recent re-releases. Problem unfortunately is recognising which are the early ones. I know Scalemates can sometimes help with that as they will show any differences, but even then they can show kits as new mould when in fact all Airfix has done is change the box and maybe the colour scheme/decals.
