That's a nice result Alan. I got one last year as my first compressor and have no problems so far and it's not particularly noisy.

And as Jim said its easy to service and plenty of spares you can get hold of.

The mouldings look a lot cleaner than the Revell Etihad Airbus that I'm in the process of building. Oddly the decals, Air Berlin & Sobelair are of companies that have both gone bust.
Not much benchtime at the moment, I've got a neck strain - really pains me when I move it ( absolute agony when I sneezed! ) - looks like I'll be propped up in front of the telly, with a bottle of painkillers for a while...............

That is a great pressie. Looks like the very popular AS186 which is sold under many labels. If it doesn't work as it should don't just give up on it. It is really easy to service. Have a look at THIS video. I have done mine and I'm a mechanical idiot :rolling:

Thanks for the link. Not the most professional vid but they do show easy it is to service it. Hopefully won't need it for a while but useful nonetheless. Thanks again for sharing.

            Hi all

So a friend was helping a neighbour/family member clear our her loft and she came across these very old publications (two are HMSO) and knowing of my WW2 interest thought I would like them - and all free.

Mine was only 6 months old when I had to strip & clean it, similar to that video.

Others seem to go for years with no issues but at this price point quality control will be sadly lacking so you're bound to get good ones and bad ones.

Postie delivered this pre-order last Monday from Hornby, with another on its way from the UK guess they are filling out the orders before the Brexit…

As I like the band too and even saw them at a gig a while ago, pretty neat to The bomber in model form:

I’ve got the Special Operations book, in Dutch — perhaps even two copies, I’m not sure anymore. These kinds of publications, though they are propaganda, are very readable and usually include quite good photos.

I got this for £6.60 delivered! - I don't know what happened with this model, but ebay has listings for lots of 5 & 10 in bundles at low prices! Overproduction?
The model itself is a simple short run productClick image for larger version

The instructions are sparse, to say the least, and you are left to your own research for the positioning of the decals & colour demarcations ( apart from the boxtop ).
At the silly price, it was worth a punt - we shall see how it goes!
                          Dave

PS be careful if you do an internet search for S & M!!!!!!!!!!! ( it's S&M - no spaces )

Without testing it, I doubt that will make much of a difference, and TBH, adding “models” after it may not help much either … IOW: it’s a somewhat poor choice of name for a company

I think the company is scalemates, think that sounds better than S & M. :nerd:

You could always put on this album when building one of their kits, though:
