It's very rarely I buy 2 of the same models, but I picked the grey one up at a good discount, then I spotted the red one at even better discount.

The aerobatic model is moulded in a bright red styrene - not that good, seeing as the bottom of the fuselage is white. The other is normal grey plastic. I might decide to finish both as trainers, as there seems to be sufficient decals, and a lot of underwing stores to fill both aircraft - that red/white looks worse, the more I look at it.
Both the models are very cleanly moulded with some very delicate parts, and a LOT of detail. The assembly looks pretty complicated, with full intake trunkings, although how much will be visible isn't clear, I'll have to study the parts & the instructions a bit more ( a lot more actually )

Thought I'd try a canopy mask on the 109 I'm currently building after struggling a bit on the Hurricane and teed up my next couple of projects at the same time. I'm hoping the book proves useful, though whether it ends up providing inspiration or feelings of inadequacy remains to be seen....

You could always just paint the grey one as the red/white and vice versa if they are the same

You could swap the colours and decals: painting grey plastic red and white is probably going to be easier than painting white on the red plastic, as you say. I quite like the look of the red plane, TBH.

Having typed that, I see SimonT just suggested the same thing

Not had any time to build but have picked up a few more damaged boxes

Well, at 50% discount it would be rude not to........

I'm determined to be able to do PE, will definitely use the screens, mesh and the boxes , the rest will depend on If I can actually see it ! :upside:

The tracks arrived on Tuesday , used these before, fiddly to say the least but the results of using the resin pin gives in effect of a proper track pin.No doubt there will be much swearing and crawling about .
When building both these I shall bring out the "CLEAN CUTTING MAT " Mike please note. :smiling:

Being a moggeler, and from Yorkshire, I made my own from a chunk of perspex and an old drawer pull

It's supposed to be for soldering ( it has a iron holder, which I've discarded ) The magnifying glass has two LEDs, powered by 3 x AAA batteries in the base, which gives it a bit of stability.............
