Heh, I used to have similar building kits when I was a child:

Except these didn’t have the cardboard to build around, and actual brick (of fired clay) with grey card strips to go between them as the mortar.

Just out of interest, how big are the bricks in those sets? I might find a use for them in Wargames scenery.....

Pete, in the 60's, these were the bomb and Big Ed 'Daddy' Roth with his Rat Fink were cult. Check out George Barris if you like custom cars. He made the Monkee's wagon, the original Batmobile and many others...…………….

Much better flight crew and pilot for test flyers as they have 1 piece coveralls.

The K5054 does have a bucket seat for the pilot too.

Just need to wait for the Ultracast 1/32 heads to arrive in the UK.

I'll keep an eye out for these too.

            Thanks Dave

The usual excellent service from John at the shop saw this arrive today....

I've been lucky enough to have worked on a few of these including a 'carbon' so it had to be done really. Just need to pluck up the courage to build some of the bikes in the stash now....

              Cheers,
              Nick.

It’s a tow-hook for on the back of a truck, or similar. Old-style, with a pin that goes through to secure the trailer. It says so on the box, but it’s hard to read for being a blurry picture: “Kupplung für LKW und Zugmaschine”, translating to English as “coupling for HGV and tractor”.

You are so right there Paul, wouldn't mind a good source for vehicle mounted tools as well. Rick H.

ROCO/Herpa, Trident & Heiser offer various detail sets that include tools. Your Trident late war 250 & 251 kits should have some extras as well. PaulE

this one finally put in an appearance - only two months since I ordered it!
Supposedly from a uk supplier on ebay but given the time delay I presume it was actually from China or similar area of the world

half the box contents appear to be surplus to requirements including a complete set of wheels which may come in handy

the instructions are rather minimal and very vague when it comes to using alternative parts - no explanation of what should be used for what version

these orange box issues are a good chance to get the Dragon kits at a more reasonable price - the bonus items are a bit rubbish with this one though. Most kits usually get a set of figures

Just finished Steve Zaloga's book "Armoured Thunderbolt. Very informative as to what version of the Sherman had which innovations.
If you don't have a good reference, I highly recommend it. Cheers, Rick H.
