Hi Rick - I’ve got Hunnicutt and Son of Sherman books plus a few other smaller ones so hopefully will have enough info but will keep that one in mind

      this one finally put in an appearance - only two months since I ordered it!
      My condoleances with your purchase :smiling3: I can’t say I was very impressed with the M4A4 kit I have. Maybe that’s because I’m comparing it to the Asuka M4A4, but since they don’t differ much in price I know I won’t be getting any more Dragon Shermans.

      That’s even worse than my M4A4. You’ve got three two-piece commander’s hatches plus a vision cupola, and only need one of the former … By the way, do check that the gun shield is the correct width. I think the one from that sprue is too narrow: if you put it onto the inner mantlet, you’ll probably see it doesn’t protrude to the right far enough. Ah, here’s the photo I took from my M4A4 parts, which had two gunshields:

      The wide one has the correct width, but I think it’s from one of the M4A4 sprues. (It does have a much too big opening for the coax and much exaggerated texture, though those are both easy to fix.)

        Arrived this morning and I know I have one on the go but I have made such a mess of it and lost a lot of parts so I got myself a new totally unstarted one to have a proper crack at it.Click image for larger version

            I got that when it came out and then preordered the second volume - the production date kept getting pushed back until they finally gave up and gave me a refund.

              Well it was only £26 and I’m not fussed if I need to do some remedial work - pretty much par for the course

              I shall look out for the mantlet - easy enough to widen it a touch if needed :thumb2:

                    I only heard of its existence the other week, so I decided I needed a copy at a reasonable cost Then it was a matter of the usual dance with Amazon to find somebody that will actually post things to the Netherlands … bloody Amazon that only tells you that something can’t be sent to you at the order confirmation screen. WTF can’t they follow eBay’s example? Anyway, I now have a lot to read again

                    Same, but when you put the two side by side, there are some angles and things off in the Dragon hull that would take an awful lot of work to correct. On the other hand, if you don’t put them side by side, you likely won’t notice too much

                    You can check easily enough: if you put it onto the wider of the inner mantlets (the one without screws on the right-hand side) then if it doesn’t protrude on the right, it’s too narrow. I’m guessing the mistake crept in because somebody at Dragon made it overhang the narrow mantlet by the amount it should overhang the wide one.

                      Ian,
                      We are starting to get worried about you, is there something you need to tell us

                          I couldn't resist showing you this, partly because I was whisked off into the land of nostalgia as soon as I opened the parcel. It dates from 1976 and I believe this is a first edition;

                          At £40, this wasn't cheap, but I've seen it go for a lot more. The thing is complete, but most parts have been removed from the sprues, and the box is a bit battered, so it's probably not something a collector would wrap in tissue paper and reverently store in his attic. I just loved seeing the club advert again:

                          Figures don't come with assembly instructions these days, I suppose it being self-evident which limb goes where. I do intend to build this, though the quality of the sculpt is pretty terrible. I've ordered a new head and a 1/12 buckle set and the rest will require a lot of scalpel work.
