Think I have used this manufacture before, made in Germany. Not cheap by any means.

Some nice small handles and the brush heads look good.
I have some Da Vinci Maestro Kolinsky Sable Series 10 Rounds i use for figure painting and they are superb, hold their shape excellently, prefer them to my W&N brushes.

Thanks Steve, comparing them today to the W&N I agree, love the shortness of the handle and the anti roll. They feel just right to hold.

Thanks John & team for the speedy delivery!

Just a few colours for upcoming builds, plus a first stab at pigments.

Some time ago I bought one of the Chinese clones of Optivisor, but couldn't get on with it. Yesterday I picked this up from Axminster Tools:

I can wear it over my normal bifocals, although I wouldn't want to for long periods. It comes with a headband as an option instead of the side arms, and the 5 lenses come in a robust case with a cleaning cloth included. It's much nicer to use than the Optivisor style, and the light is really useful. Cost a bit under £20.

Let me know how you get on with it. I've got a Chinese clone and although it's ok, I'm on the looking for something better for when it needs replacing.

I’ve got both of them. The Optivisor gives the best vision improvement, but that’s not surprising considering the difference in price. The lightcraft job is not as comfortable because I find it a little front heavy due to the lights. It is very useful away from the bench though, because the built in light can improve visibility when the ambient lighting is poor. I couldn’t get on with the spectacle arms however, the weight of the front end made the whole thing keep sliding down my nose. I therefore use mine exclusively with the headband. The optivisor is much superior for bench work though.

I just found this on fleabay & took a punt. A new manufacturer to me .Seems like a good likeness and should be quick & easy to paint.
I watched a programme about him recently, and whilst I'm still not a fan he is very much a part of the BoB story
I'm up to my eyes in work at the moment but if I get time I will add him into the BoB group build.

Can you remember what the programme was called?

I only ever read his biography in my teens. The one that was published just after the war. Obviously now I'm much the wiser and realise that it might not have been the completely balanced.

I'm sure I also remember seeing him on that golfing chat show 'A Round with Alliss"

I think it was Air Aces on PBS America, made about 10 years ago I reckon, judging by the quality of the CG.
It was quite balanced and not overly sycophantic, which was a relief
