Managed to scrape these up off eBay......very disappointed with the Zero. More like 1-100 scale than 1-87!!

Arrived this morning at the Towers, if its good enough for Nightshift then its fine by me. Handle bending thing ! Had a bender before but every time it was the wrong width, at least this should cope.

A very useful tool JR.....been using one for years. Works like a champ but takes a little faffing to get the hang of it.

It’s a tool to bend brass (or similar) wire into handles for hatches etc. You undo the wingnuts, put a piece of wire between the two pieces of perspex, aligned with the notches that are the right distance apart for your handle, tighten the nuts and bend the wire to 90° on both sides.

I used to have one in steel from RP Toolz but I sold it last year because I found it awkward to use. Having to undo and tighten it every time, the sizes being in 1 mm steps when I often found I needed something like 3.5 mm, etc. all meant I never really used it.

Any size works, but for grab handles I'm guessing between .030 and .040" in 1-35 scale. I use .012 to .015" for a 1" dia. grab in 1-87 scale. As Jakko mentioned, this is not one for the "mechanically impaired" individual. I have a system that works for me and I can knock out a good number of grabs in a relatively short time with excellent accuracy. :thumb2:
