Well, Christmas is fast becoming a memory; my wife Kate believes she's the Christmas Fairy Reincarnate and indulges her favourite passion (apart from Knitting) - buying presents! This year was no exception although I suspect I won't have started some of these next year due to ongoing GBs. This is just the modelling related stuff as well ...

I thought about a scenario with a German E-boat alongside with a Senior Office having come ashore and striding to the waiting staff car' - Adjutant and female Hilferrinin following at a respectable distance and the driver poised to fling open the door and salute (I have this on my 'Shelf of Doom'). Gear piled on the jetty and several 'Toms' looking on. Discounted this due to the following:
. E- boat too expensive, too lengthy, and too time-consuming to build properly(due to other builds and I'd have to buy another dock section to accommodate same
. Can't find appropriate 1/35 German Kriegsmarine sailors (scratching too long-winded at present)
        . Insufficient display space
. A 'Brain Fa.rt' in terms of clearing the Man Cave to house the end product

So, Plan B is similar except we've Assault Engineers loading into Gemini/Zodiac equivalents (Rubber Boats) , I know I can source these at some point! Wotcha fink? (Open to C&Cs and alternative scenarios) Squaddies milling around with gear everywhere and SNCOs and Orficers interfering of course!

Sounds like a plan!. I wondered about the E-boat myself, but I agree it would be rather large. But then I am WAY ahead of you in the starting something that will be too big to deal with stakes....!

You could go for a Light Assault Boat 39. They came in two sizes 8 & 10 man, both with "powered oar" type engines.

Thanks minitnkr. That sounds just the job mate - I know Dragon made a set Of Assault Engineers with a boat so will try to source them, otherwise I'll have to try and research then scratch build (uugh!).
Thanks for the info - any more gratefully received!
