I've never built a 1/48scale plane so the offer of a free one was too good to miss. Ivery nearly bought the Ferret at telford last year. The 1/72 quad was to make up the cost to get free delivery!

I got sucked in by that deal too....see below post!

Ok chaps.....normal service has been resumed albeit in a couple of cases in very sad circumstances.

      ACW as usual!

      ----------------------------------------------

First up are these....Airfix were doing a limited offer of 'Spend £50 and get a 1/48 Spitfire Vb for free'!!

This happened to coincide with the release of new tool Meteor - I don't currently have any, so took the plunge. By my reckoning, the total saving was about 30%, so not too shabby.

      These are the bitter-sweet arrivals.

Just before Christmas 2022 one of club members died after suffering a massive stroke. He was in his late-60s/early-70s but very good for his age, despite having to care for his wife who suffers from a neuro-degenerative disease that will sadly kill her in its own sweet time. I had only seen him a week or so before too and he was in his usual good form, so it came as a real shock.

His family are in the process of clearing his stash out and offered them to club members for a donation to charity and so I took these.

Even though it's missing the PE and decals, the Hauler kit in particular was a nice find......just a shame about the very sad circumstances.

                ------------------------------------

I won these in the charity raffle....the money was going to the support the local air ambulance...the socks I live without, the picture though is very nice and part of a limited run by Airfix of only 250.

Picked this up for a very good price from stall of a model shop...prices are normally c. £15 and often more delivered, this was only £10. It will be part of My Hunters and Hunted Collection, as I don't yet have an 88mm

Nice Score Ian (just testing out the comment function here) I haven't painted with Enamels for years but glad to hear they're made in the UK again.

So i had a fiver voucher for hobbycraft that needed using so picked up this

Better explain the idea behind why

I want to join in the AlanGB with a FW190 but im not confidant with aircraft.....its a subject i dabble in but think i never manage the same quality as i do with cars and bikes.......and i havnt a clue how to do luftwaffe mottle camo.....especially since i dont have access to an air brush at the mo......so i thought id get something to practice on......closest thing they had to a fw190 ........so i might have this next on the production line

And any suggestions on how to do the camo greatfully appreciated

Find a suitable size old brush and cut the bristles to half and generally abuse it to flair the bristles out and vola a stipling brush. or you could buy one. Mig probably have one...

Yes stamping or use a brush ready for drybrushing and gently stamp very light coats onto the side until you get the look you want.
