Hello, my name is Andreas.... :tears-of-joy:

This time I was actually "good". I only bought what I really needed!
Ok, the decal set was heavily discounted and I still needed the ISU to get free shipping... maybe "half good"! :tears-of-joy:

        Just been gifted this,

Sadly the father of one of my ex girlfriends from over 30 years ago passed away last year, and whilst clearing out his model train room they found all sorts of modelling stuff, tools, paints....etc etc, amongst them was this, the Tamiya 1/12 scale Lotus type 78 race car, sadly he'd literally just about managed to open the box and start painting the chassis before he died,

So after searching for me across social media my ex 'Karen' dropped me a message, and after telling me the the sad news asked if I'd be interested in taking this away, as they didn't have the heart to just throw it in the trash.

We had a really nice catch up yesterday, chatted about the old things we all did, and how her father used to love seeing the models I'd built back then, she swears that seeing the stuff I was building back then inspired her dad to take up modelling after many, many, years away from the hobby, (he built a really beautiful HMS Victory out of wood, it looks absolutely gorgeous),

So this has moved to the top of the build pile, (still haven't finished the Abrams TUSK I started ages and ages back), and after having a look in the box I'm
feeling those modelling mojo vibes returning.

So 'Terry' this ones gonna be for you mate..

Ok chaps, so these have arrived over the past couple of weeks.....honestly!

Some bargains, some not.....but all of course absolutely essential!

                  ATB

                  Andrew

                  ---------------------------------------------

A combination of a number of orders from a few suppliers......

The Montex Masks and resin wheels are for the Revell Spit that AlanG shamelessly trapped me into buying

Not sure what happened with the tape.....got carried away .....but at least I now have everything 6mm and below covered!

Won these as prizes in the charity raffle at Coventry and Warks IPMS show

As you may have seen I have given away the figures away on here, as they're not my thing.

                  Forced to buy these.....

Hobbycraft were doing one of their 'spend £15, get £5 off' offers, so it would have rude not too! .....but I am running out of things I can buy from them at the cheaper end of their price range.:sad-face:

And now for something a bit different.....

This popped on eBay from a second-hand reseller site here in the UK for a very good price! Dave started this last year as part of the Soviet Wingy GB I ran on the other forum I am on and it intrigued me, so thought I should grab it when I saw it

                  More wargaming purchases.....

Tim and Jakko reminded me about these being pretty robust for wargaming purposes but they are like hens teeth and usually go for about £20 delivered on Fleabay far too much for what they are. Someone though was selling this pair for £26 delivered - a pretty good price - and so whilst I plan to build both, if I do sell one, I should make a sizeable chunk of my cash back.

What I was amazed at though was the condition they were in. I have no idea where these have been but given that they're the 1975 and 1976 boxings, the boxes are like they're brand new and the sprues are still sealed in the bag from the day they were packaged!

                  And some great bargains.....

I was looking at a small second site I have bought from in the past and found these. Across all four, these were 30-40% of what you'd pay new and were in perfect condition. A couple of unusual subjects for me too!

Finally, possibly the pick of the bunch.....

I had discovered that I was missing a 190F-8 from my 1/48 wingy stash. I had the A and D fighter variants but not one of these.....a truly staggering omission, I think you will agree!

These are normally £35-36 delivered new and often a lot more. I managed to pick this up for under £30!

So AlanG , this means I can have a go at doing 'Red 2' in a larger scale, unless of course I follow the destructions and go for a 'Blue 2'.......:smiling5:

I hadn’t seen it, but I find it very interesting you’ve got that set. When I was in Washington D.C. 25 years ago, I took this photo:

… and a few more from around the sides, exactly because I had that kit in my stash at the time. Still do, in fact …

IMHO, that makes them too much of a … relic? to open and build.

I did think about that but at the same time the raison d'etre of a kit is to be built......at least to me.....that said it would be interesting to see how much one would go for it timed the auction right.

Just back from a couple of days away in Dorset with my daughter and granddaughter , and what should we pass on the way out yesterday?
                          Bovington Tank Museum!
I knew it was in the vicinity but with only two days together I was not going to make a big deal about it.
                          BUT
in the morning we went to Lulworth Cove and got totally drenched in about 30 seconds. Then we went soddenly to Swanage, which was nice, but we were SO done by 2.30 and home by 3. SWMBO, (bless her) suggested I take myself off to the Tank Museum whilst they all had a sauna- my kind of deal.
I've never been so it was real treat- especially the gift shop which had more model kits and accessories than I have seen in one place (apart from home-OBVS :rolling: )for many a year.
I tried REALLY hard, but I couldn't find anything I really wanted, tanks not being my thang but I did get this.

I was hopeful it would fit my D-Day GB Landing craft, but it's about 3mm too short. :tired:
never mind, it was half price! I'm sure I'll find something for it eventually.
                          Still, a good day!

With a domestic situation ongoing (nothing serious) and the Sword Lightning T5 presenting challenges associated with short run kits I needed a 'quick fix'! as many of you may know I'm quite a speed builder usually turning round a kit in a week, this is usually quite simple as my preference is for 'classic' kits from my boyhood, so, second hand for around a tenner I got this one

A 1981 pressing of the 1967 mold Hasegawa Lightning F6, widely regarded as the 'definitive' Lightning in 1/72 for over fifty years!

Got a couple of new additions to the tool box

1 - ANYZ Super Precision Tweezers
2 - EZ line (I have no use for it now but thought it looked cool and would be handy to have. Yes shopping at 3am isn't advised)
3 - Infini sanding holder things..
