Well thanks for your words of comfort :smiling2:. Luckily for me, one of the perks of being a shunting engineer is that I work in shifts. So that means I have some calm nights at work and me-time during the day LOL
Andy, good to see you here, hopefully we see some of your work here in the future. And with bigger photos and avatars, suddenly yours makes sense now...in a way :smiling5:

Hi all... another refugee from the MM website ... managed to scramble across safely but messed up my name in the registration process... it should be Jason Crausby so if anybody know how I can rectify this... that will be my first challenge!
Thanks for having us!

Greetings Earth People of SM UK,
I've been guided here from MM and it looks like a chill place to stay. Thank you for the membership confirmation.
Checkin out all the rooms in the house I see you have one dedicated to Trains. My primary interest is military vehicles, odd ball - funnies mostly, I also like trains. My former occupation was an Autorack Loader/Unloader. I don't have a running layout but I build and paint stand alone replicas in HO and O scale. My other model interests include Kit-Mashups of sci-fi and tongue & cheek subject matter. And I'm starting to learn how to include DC electronics.
My avatar is of Painter, from Homies series 7. He has a reasonably similar resemblance to me.Comment

Well folks today is the day. Posted my last farewell message on MilMod, cancelled my direct debit for my magazine subscription and I'm looking forward.
Worth saying again that we are all lucky to have found such a welcoming, friendly home. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at many of the threads here. Much more varied than the old forum - it's general modelling rather than Military Modelling, although to be fair non military subjects were always welcomed. I have looked at people building big trucks, Star Wars stuff, big ships, cars as well as tanks etc. I reckon it is a golden opportunity for us all to branch out and take a look at some other aspects of the hobby.
Simon Hammerton has just posted this on MilMod
"I've been communicating with Brett Green.
He wants to establish a Military Modelling sub-forum for members, but wants to gauge interest.
Brett Green is the guy behind the Missing Lynx website, and is the Editor of Model Military International Magazine which is absorbing Mil Mod Magazine"
I want to make it clear that I am here to stay. I will not join a sub forum of ML.
