Hi All,
Got lost getting on board the refugee ship "Noahs Ark" and was immediately shunted to the wildlife section because I was still carrying the palm leaves salvaged from the MM site. On arrival I saw many familiar faces (they were on passenger first class) and glad they have been warmly recieved. I have yet to be cleaned up after processing at the customs, screened and vaccinated before being released to the new home.
Kidding aside I had to salvage over four thousand images in the last two days, mostly build blog images before I could say something here. I'd like to thank the SM members for taking me in warts and all :smiling6:
Once I've freshened up I'll head to the introductory thread and spill my beans. Meanwhile I'll have a walkabout the site to know how to share my current and past builds.
I know I'm going like it here as the MM guys are already showing it and the chance to meet old acquaintances, new modellers and friends.
Cheers,

it's general modelling rather than Military Modelling, although to be fair non military subjects were always welcomed. I have looked at people building big trucks, Star Wars stuff, big ships, cars as well as tanks etc. I reckon it is a golden opportunity for us all to branch out and take a look at some other aspects of the hobby.
i am a big believer in trying to join in with GBs that are outside my usual interest as it not only helps develop new skills it also brings the forum together as a communityPer Ardua
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones beenComment

Hi Jay.... where have you been....its all been happening!
I've just posted my last on the MM site and after my initial panic when I heard it was closing I find myself with a warm and rather pleasant feeling this evening ( should I worry?)
In part this is due to the warm welcome us refugees from MM have been treated to, but also a feeling of pride that we didn't just crumble in the face of adversity and spurred on by other members (you know who you are!) we actually refused to let our interest and hobby fall by the wayside and sorted it out for ourselves!
So I'm grateful to the people at scale-models and also to those previously at MM who shared the news about this site!
Thanks again
Jason.
ps... just grabbed my old avatar back before it was too late!Comment

Hi all
Just to say, I’m not going for a sub forum of ML either. I like it here so far, and the wide range of interests suits me down to the ground. if It was a bricks and mortar club it would be one I would like to join....
Cheers

Well its nice to see most of us here.:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:
As Jim has said earlier it would be nice to give some business to John the owner of the Scale Model Shop and host of the site.
Hopefully those that are in the UK might , I know several ex MM people already have done so. I would far rather support the shop than subscribe to an online mag that I could hardly read, and went down hill so very quickly.
