Totally missed this, otherwise I'd have come straight here instead of barreling in with begging posts!
I am from Sussex and have always been fascinated by aircraft, influenced by 80's cold war themed movies and my grandfather who served on HMS Eagle.
I used to model almost constantly in my early teens, building mainly helicopters which remains a source of fascination today. I have a small 20+ year old collection of 1:72 Italeri helicopters stashed in the garage that I will get round to at some point.
Decided to start modelling again now that my children are no longer babies and I have the space to devote to a dedicated work station.
The motivation to rekindle this beloved pastime was again my grandfather and I decided to start building Fleet Air Arm and Royal Navy Air Service models in 1:72 scale. Currently I am making a hash of an Airfix FG.1 Phantom whilst I get my eye back in and I have a Hasegawa FRS Mk.1 Harrier and AZ models Supermarine Attacker FB.2 lined up.
I'm hoping to pick up contemporary tips & techniques and maybe even inspiration to explore other model types.
