Welcome Tim, we have a few Johns and Richards so now another Tim. Like to see how far plastic gets destroyed...just kidding, in no time you'll be building like the rest of us...still muddling away and enjoying every minute of it. :smiling2:

    Cheers,
    Richard

Thank you all for the very warm welcome, I'll do my best not to ruin to many models but as I said in my OP it's been more than 50 years since my airfix days. I have dabbled in other stuff during that time however, learned to fly model helicopters, a mixture of Hirobo, Schluter, Kalt and one or two others whose names escape me. They all had to be rebuilt on numerous occasions, not much glue involved though. I fear that painting will be hard especially weathering. Never mind I'm here to learn.

              Regards to all

              Tim

welcome to the forum, there are a lot of returnees to the hobby, a lot has changed over the intervening years - any problems, ask away - we won't bite! ( they might try to set you on fire, though ). Above all enjoy yourself

A warm welcome from me Tim, as you will see I mainly work on dioramas based on Russian armour, set fire to buildings and generally have fun.

Your fathers story must be both interesting and heartbreaking knowing what all those involved went through because of two madmen.

Welcome back to the hobby Tim. Destroying kits you say as a youngster - not to worry some of us older ones can still manage that on a good day.
Bob the Stug should be contacting you as you both share the same interest.
My last memory of Dartmoor was early morning runs in full kit up and down Yes Tor.
Do not worry if you make mistakes or you need help, there are plenty on here that can point you in the right direction and even the simplist question will get a reply or several.
                    Cheers
                    Mike.
