    The New Boy

Hi all, just joined the forum so thought I would say hello. Life-long model builder (with a few gaps!) and having a slightly more serious go at it now I'm semi retired. I taught myself CAD (and now CAM) so using this to make a few bits.

I'm focusing on 1/8th and 1/12th cars at the moment but my interests are many and varied including wooden ships, many, many aircraft (my first love) and plenty of stuff in between. Here's a taster :smiling3:

Absolutely superb introduction. Several of those could be confused with the real thing, especially the engine, the bike, and the Alfa…..
Welcome Nick. Looking forward to your first blog, as there is a lot to learn from there.

No it’s the new Tamiya 1/48th - beautiful kits, treat yourself if you don’t have one, their new phantom is equally nice too. Different level stuff.

Thanks. The engine is a Ferrari F40 which I drew in Fusion 360 and 3D printed In 1/8th.

the ships are HMS Victory 1/72nd wooden Caldercraft kit the other is USS Arizona (of Pear Harbour fame) 1/200th Trumpeter kit with a few extras.
