    New to group

Been building a 1/72 HMS Andromeda (with a gun) for about 5 years now. It had to share time with work, other hobbies and was something that steadily progressed.
Been retired 3 years now but were still too many distractions :hungry:, now getting some focus and progress speeding up - so much detail to do at that scale....

I'm ex-RN, and Androm my first ship, hence the model. Also have started a 1/96 HMS Blake (another old ship).

Steep learning curve as only really did plastic kits before...
Have a plan to get it on the water before end of year...

        Hi and welcome Ray.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

Welcome Ray, or as my dad would say 'alreet bonny lad'.
Leanders good solid ships. Ex RN myself, Mainly Tribals, (x3), but did do F15 - HMS Euryalus. Not bad for a Wafu!!
You've landed in a good forum, some excellent modellers, advice and banter.

You mention 'Snakey Blakey!! Have a butchers at Chris, AKA boatman build of HMS Tiger. 1/72 scale I believe.
          Link to his completed build.

Hi and Welcome to the forum. I am sure that there are many that look forward to seeing your builds. Tworrs has build a very nice RC Iron Duke which is well worth a look as well. I am sure you will fit in well here.

20 years I worked with the Army and I saw more rum issued then than I did in 25 years in the RN!!! What was it the trench diggers called it - oh yeah! 'Gunfire'. Whereabouts in Newcastle did you work Mike. See if I can remember any names. (Been over 50 years now!!!) Nationalised Southern Softie these days. :thumb2:
