    Got the bug

We try and go to our caravan every weekend and I go for a wander taking pics, these are some of the bugs I’ve taken pics of in the last couple of weeks, I’m quite pleased with them.

Olympus EM1 MKII, most of those pics have been taken with a 40-150mm lens with a 1.4 teleconvertor, full frame equivalent 420mm, but I’ve just bought a 60mm 2.8 macro lens, the last 3 pics was taken using that.

This one isn’t in focus, but I was impressed I got it, it was flying about 6ft in front of me, and I was using manual focus.

Great photos John , I’m always in awe of nature and the smallest of things can be a source of wonder and amazement . A lot of people go about their lives not realising how fascinating the tiny things that are right under their noses are ( no not bogeys !) here’s a couple of pics of mine , a puss moth caterpillar and only yesterday my wife took this of a white satin moth ,cheers tonyClick image for larger version

Nice shots, difficult to get decent depth of field on hand held macro shots....reminds me that I must get out with my camera again, not done it for ages.....

Nice shots John, having tried from time to time i know those butterflies rarely stat still with the wings open like that; so hats off for patience

Beautiful creatures and some of the best photos of them I've seen.I wish that I could appreciate them more than I do.

Those are first class photographic shots John. Great beauty of those insects.

I watch Country File , which is a superb programme, any of your shots would
be an entry for their Country File Calender

What equipment do you use ?

Olympus EM1 MKII, its micro 4/3, so not a large camera.
