Just sitting beside a pond, and these are wandering around, there's another group, but with 9 ducklings in it.

We just came back from a swim, this had obviously been surveying the valley in our absence.

All credit to Carol for nailing the shot.

Parent brought one of their young, the second came a little later (didn't get a photo of the pair though)

Great to see folks mucking in with their 'Birdie' pictures.

It's all been happening at our place....

A young Song Thrush. We were lucky to have a clutch of four of these reared this year, and I was lucky enough to get a snap of all of them together.....I'll post this later.

Its a little bit of a cheat, but it is our garden and it is a bird.

One of our Muscovys has been getting out. She's clipped, and we thought we'd solved it when we saw her pushing under the wire. We sorted that out, but still she escapes.

Turns out she climbs, perches & leaps. Not very duck-like. The Collie, though keen to earn her keep, is not sure if chasing ducks up fences is within her job description....

Great photos 570, not seen or heard a Song Thrush now for years sadly.
