I ate deep-fried Tarantula in Vietnam once - tasted slightly of Diesel!

:tears-of-joy: I've only gone as far as deep fried Meal worms and Crickets... I've cooked the crickets (compliments from a friend who has a cricket farm) myself with seasoning, dried chilli and curry leaves...taste like roasted hazelnuts. I fry them until the legs are detached so they look like brown nuts.

Cheers,
Richard

That reminds me of the Jungle Warfare Course at Khota Tinghi (excuse the spelling) Richard, some of the stuff we had to eat was 'interesting' (to say the least!) - perhaps with seasoning, chilli and curry leaves they may have been more acceptable! Happy days!

Kota Tingghi, that's where our Jungle Warfare Camp is. Been there once on a management training course for teamwork.
Many foreign armies send their troops to train there. When was your stint Steve?

Cheers,
Richard

Back in the very late 60's - and again in '70-71 for the Instructors Course! Then later, again getting hot, sweaty and leech bitten in Belize - I am most definitely not a Jungly!

I just found John's lawnmower, I would have thought it would have been 4B0 and a big red star on it.

I only know two things about plants, but I know this one:

A weed is a flower growing in the wrong place!

PS The other thing I know is that it's the green bit that sticks up above the ground when you plant them.

To be fair to John Moni, we don’t have the lethal eight legged aliens you have over there. Ours are more benign, and somewhat smaller

Horse Fly - I was bitten on the arm by one a few years ago - it looked like I was growing an Incredible Hulk bicep! Incredibly tender, but went down without any antibiotics
