Yeah it's come out really well. Need to strip and rebuild gear box but at least it's clean now.
Just doing last 2 cylinder heads and rocker covers and the block and it's all done.

That's using 2 different machines, but both with glass media.

So got most bits for engine rebuild ready (excluding gearbox which needs to be done) apart from a new set of cam followers which are eye wateringly expensive.
Think doing away with the air box type filter for direct inlets onto heads will look good.

Um, are you dispensing with the carbs as well as the airbox? Could make for a very lean mix! :smiling5:

I had a chance to visit a car show, and a Subie WRX sounded absolutely fantastic, well....at least to a nerd like me.

It makes no noise at all currently and won't for some time as there are boxes of components everywhere.

For nosie I favour the German V8s

Slowly Steve, shame the assembly lube took so long to arrive.

So unfortunately I do not have an up to date photo but the rods are in, crowns on and barrels and heads on as well though not tightened. Honed the cylinders and fitted new piston rings. Hoping when I return to make some substantial progress and maybe get it running even if its just on the bench. As always spares for something this age are a pain, especially when stuff that should fit doesn't.
