Yes we do indeed Bob. Facing south is brilliant , we have the sun go from left to right .
Well you have those springs so can understand the difficulty.

I used to do bonsai. I had some nice ones started from young plants. Ten years in and they went tits up.
Sad Ian, did they dry out? That's a common cause of loss, that and not root pruning. We lost a beautiful Maple , was perfect when we went out , dried out fully and died by the time we came back !

What you need is a nice easy maintenance garden, lots of hard stuff and a bit of green that only needs cutting!!! More time for the fun things in life - like not getting yer fingers chewed by the newest furry arrival! Click image for larger version

Most of them yes. A good sunny day and it was game over! A few had the roots eaten away by insects!

Thats a lovely garden John.I live in a flat without a garden and sooo wish i had a little spot to sit.I used to have an allotment when i was at home and i had a little area to grow my Asters and dahlias etc.Think i gave most away to others to make sprays for their homes.Mum and dad grew the veg and i was the digger!!.

Is that the same idea that Mrs L has, she comes up with all the plans and I end up doing all the donkey work, and when its finished she sits in the garden to enjoy the work, whilst I (who cannot stand sitting around in the sun, doing nothing) clear off and carry out any plans she has for the interior of the house....

Hi John, that is a lovely tranquil space you have there. We don't have much of a flower garden, they are mostly in pots, but this is the wife's current favourite. The Honeysuckle is in full bloom.Click image for larger version
