    Ok other hobbies, erm?

I've had many over the years, when I was younger it was sports, cycling, football, squash, golf, etc. Also did some basic Course fishing and even did some Eel fishing at Surrey Docks London, never caught much though!
As a child I enjoyed Airfix kits and Meccano and Lego, as an adult I have always done DIY to a good standard, (eg, Decorating, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, etc) as I was a plumber in my early career and later in life a Surveyor, so I have always enjoyed making / building things.

As I got older I got into more fishing, (mostly Fly / Trout) and shooting (Airguns) mostly target shooting and still enjoy going to a local range.
Also had a spell with some RC models, building and using, couple of basic RC cars, a RC plane, an RC Glider and even an RC Chopper, (all back in the day, pre digital stuff).
Have also been into cars and motorbikes, some light modding, etc.
Still do the odd Lego (Expert/ Creator sets), and as you now know, am getting back into the plastic model kits.

Have also been a collector of "things" over the years, I collected old gaming consoles for many years, Atari, Commodore, Spectrum, Nintendo, Sony, Playstations, etc, but sold most of them a while back. Still do a bit of PS4 /PC gaming now and again, mostly Racing / Flying Sims and FPS and open world type games, eg: GTV and RDR2, etc. I have also collected magazines, eg: old motorbike mags, gaming mags, and some comics. Have also collected some old classic model cars, got rid of most of them now, but still have a couple of Corgi models, eg: James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 and Lotus Espirit, Batmobile, etc.
Also have a good collection of tools, from plumbing, to tiling, to carpentry and some specialist ones too and a small collection of knives.
My airgunning stock is also lately turning into a small collection in its own right!

I also enjoy reading a lot, I have a Kindle, but I still stick to actual books, (old skool!) Mostly enjoy Sci-Fi, Thrillers, Legal thrillers, spy novels, biographies, mystery's, and anything funny, Lol, anything really. Favourites include Dickins, HG wells, Douglas Adams, Tom Sharp, Michael Crichton, etc.

Did not really have a lot of time for most of this stuff when working, but now that I have just retired and am a man of leisure, I intend to do a lot more "stuff".
    Cheers :hungry:

Well currently I do read a lot, I love my Kindle and relax with a variety of genres. Among my favourite authors are Tom Clancy, Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Wilbur Smith. Sadly those have either died or retired from writing (those continuing the franchises are not so good). I also love some sci-fi, mostly military based. I have recently been rereading some Dennis Wheatley favourites. ‘Back in the day’ I read a lot of westerns, JT Edson was my favourite but I also read a lot of Louis L’Amour.

I did not read only fiction, I developed an interest in economics as a teenager and have read a lot of economics text books, my favourites being FA Hayek and Milton Friedman. This understanding helped me professionally in building my investment business, years later, but back then it was just a hobby.

Other ‘hobbies’. Well I suppose you could describe current affairs and politics in that way. I was actively involved from 1973 through to around 2007 but not since. I served three terms on a District Council from 1983 to 1995.

I have also been involved in a lot of business organisations, school governance and other groups with an armed forces focus.

I'm a bit of an avid Kindle reader myself. Rarely pay for books these days as I have a library that puts the local Library to shame. (Some 28gb of books)!! Found some new, (to me), authors that I have even been known to purchase!! Bob Mayer, Christopher Cartwright and Peter Tonkin. All very good in their own genre.
Have to say for a giggle it's Tom Sharpe and Terry Pratchett!!

It'll probably come as no surprise that I enjoy messing about with an airbrush. I haven't really got the eye for proper artwork but here are a few examples where I've been playing around with various custom painting effects.

Well Andy, You are a surprise and when reading your intro I doubt none of us expected to see the exceptional work you have done, and if that is as you say 'messing around' then I really would loke to se the serious work.

Andy, that's bloody brilliant. As Mike said if that's " messing about with an airbrush" think what you could do if you tried hard. :smiling2:

No time to read books or sit about at home. Too busy wandering this wonderful country of ours in our camper looking for 'out of the way places'...and, boy have we found some!

No other real hobbies either, but when the mood takes me, I do dabble in watercolours.

Last November, my Daughter in Law mentioned she loved Cheetahs. I quietly locked it in my nut.

I painted this and gave it to her for Christmas........
