    Valerons Airfix 1:72 Focke-Wulfe Fw190-A8

This is my build for the Alan G memorial GB.

I'm hoping it'll get my mojo back up and running as I struggled to build much last year.

I'll be brush painting this as per usual and looking forward to the mottling challenge.

It's quite a small model with not too many parts so hopefully I'll complete my first model of 2025 in reasonable time frame.

Looks straightforward so hopefully it will be a good mojo booster. Mottling will be fun.

Nice one Mike. Yes at 1:72 it will be a small model. Best of luck.

I'm not really one for new years resolutions but in order to get my mojo going I've decided to try and commit time on most days to modelling. This should at least be fine for at least this month as I have very little other things planned.

Today I've completed the cockpit and associated parts and primed them. I've also been to the post office to pick up a delivery of paints I needed for this model.

So far so good with mo problems. The model is well sculptured and required very little cleanup.

The cockpit is ready to be buttoned up after a matt coat.

I've dry fitted the fuselage and it seems fine but in my experience, most things dry fit and something always don't fit on the real go. I'll be trying this tomorrow.

?that buttoning it up goes smoothly.

The main body is now complete. I struggled a bit on getting it together and needed some filler and sanding.

I've primed it and have noriced a few blemishes which I'll sort out. Ive also noticed a canon has gone missing.

Whilst I brush paint with Vallejo paints, I prime using a rattle can. My grey primer has run out so I used black. I've never done this before and hope I don't live to regret it.

Looking good. Black primer should be fine. It can take a bit more covering but certainly adds depth to the top coat.

Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.
