That's looking really nice Tim. First time I saw a figure painter using a pink undercoat for yellow I thought he'd lost the plot but it works so well.
Thanks Mick. I saw it used in a thread on the Lead Adventure forum first, and thought it worth a try. It works well under red as well, though I tend to use Vallejo saddle brown in that case, using flat flesh as the highlights. The transparent nature of the red then means you can overpaint and get the highlights showing through but not turning the paint pink. Mixed with black it also makes a good worn tyre colour……it’s very versatile.
An Eduard profi-pack, probably my favourite kit. Everything needed except glue and paint. Your build is looking great Tim. The paint especially effective.

Cheers Colin. I’d agree on the kit, absolutely top quality. The zero I built from the same stable was as good, or perhaps better. I think they are the gold standard for 1/48 aircraft kits these days.
Slowed down a bit recently. I gloss varnished the airframe with Klear, and got a pebble dashed finish that seemed to be a little water repellent when applying decals. The decals therefore needed many coats of Micro sol to try and get rid of the bubbles…..there is still a little silvering, mostly on the small stencils, but I’ll have to live with it.
I have had the bottle of Klear for a long time, so that’s probably the last time I’ll use it through an airbrush……top satin varnish is now on anyway…..
Next up is some light detail painting and light weathering, then final assembly……getting close now……probably the reveal will be my final update on this thread.
