Allyne, Humbrol Matt 67 is what I use. There again, I guess any Dk. grey would do, seeing as how it might be getting the mud treatment...wink, wink!

Looking great so far Allyne. I like the variation in the wheel colour.

          Cheers

I got the variation from a painting i found on the internet of a jagdpanther from the Normany battles. I thought it looked cool so here it is lol

Ok another question for you armour guys. On the side of the jagdpanther there is a box and a fire extinguisher. What colour would these items be? Some have painted wood effect and others have painted cammo for the box. The extinguisher has either been red, yellow or dark grey

Tried to do a little bit of weathering on the exhausts. Slight variations in colour and some soot deposits.

Allyne, the box is in fact a solid wooden block used with the jack, so I would go with wood effect.

Not sure of the fire extinguisher colour, some pictures on Google Images show it just Dk yellow, others show it just passed over when spraying the cammo.

I don't know enough about the niceties of tank painting, but I'm sure someone on here will enlighten us both soon!

Cheers Ron. Might paint the extinguisher camo then as it'll be easier to lol.

Looking good Allyne. Those exhaust pipes are pretty good. You might want to give them a bit off oil/soot just to finish them off.

If it was me, I would paint the fire extinguisher in brass then sort of over-spray it with the camo. Not too much just so you can see that it's brass and some one couldn't be chuffed to take it off when they painted the camo.....

Ian the picture doesn't do it justice. The pipes are already sooted and they look great lol.

Painted the base colour tonight. Once i've let it dry enough i'll start adding the other two colours

Anyone ever got to a certain stage of a model and got nervous about proceeding? Well i'm there. Going to be painting totally freehand and slightly nervous about it lol

Green added. Needs touching up in places. Alot harder doing it freehand then i thought. Defo shows the magnificent skills of some of you here when painting armour.
