Thanks for that Tony, I appreciate the compliment, very flattering, you ow'd softy!
Nice comments from you too Bobby, thanks.
I have made a start on the farm house. I don't think it is neccessary to show all the walls of the house, so I have just chosen one to show my method of doing things.....
I have decided to eventually attach the barn to this gable end of the house. I have left the gable showing the stone work and done a strip of cement render along it. The reason being, I would suspect with there perhaps being animals inside, the farmer would want to make the walls easier to clean than bare stone...The rest of the house will be rendered.
Curious as to how long it would take, I timed myself. Just going steady it took 1 hour to complete. I have included this bit, not for self gratification, but to show what can be achieved with this stuff in a quite a short time.
Anyway here are the stages of the build:-
Mark from paper template and cut out shape.
Scribe stonework, cracks and lintols ect.
Sealer coat of acrylic paint.
Subsequent coats for toning and highlights.
Final coat and dusting.
That's it so far....
Thanks for looking,
Ron
P.S. Sorry for the state of my fingers, they really are clean!!!!!!

Thanks John, sorry I should have mentioned it. It's the polystyrene base the pizza sits on in the packaging...It's about 3mm thick and fits a 9" pizza!!
Here is a picture of one when I did my first go at this sort of thing....1/35 German Farm.

To save you putting on to much weight Ron, have you looked at the soundproofing underlays for laminate floorings. Looks like the same stuff, just thicker. I even think you can get it in several thicknesses. Each "tile" is about 100 x 70 cm.
Love the gable to the farm house.

Ian, thanks for the post on soundproofing underlay, I will have a scout for some and have a look for some when I do my next building....
Thank you Polux for your kind comments.
Here is a bit more progress.
The Farm house walls(Flat packed!) One chimney and one wood store. A bit more weathering and perhaps alter a thing or two, but the basics are there.
Next, the house roof, then I will start the barn.
Thanks for looking,
Ron
Just noticed...I haven't staggered two rows of tiles....Hey ho, sack the roofer!!!!!

Hi all,
As you can see from my earlier post, the farm house is going ahead nicely, so I have turned to the figures for a bit of a break....
The 1/72 figures from Caeser Miniatures, a Taiwanese company, are superb, no trimming, which being soft plastic I was dreading! The detail for such a small scale is great.
Here is one from the 40 figure, twelve different poses set. Still a bit of weathering and fettling to do on him, but I am well impressed with the quality.
I won't be using all the figures, just the ones best suited to the diorama.
Thanks for looking,
Ron

Ron ,you flanneller!! All this time youve been telling us you cant do small detail, then you show us this! Top work mate , glad to see theyre better than the old airfix 1/72 polythene jobbies weve both had (bad!)experience of eh! I reckon this foray into miniature world will soon see you doing some 1/144 stuff!!. Great job on the figure , looking forward to seeing the dio progress, cheers mate tonyComment

Hi Ron. Been watching this and I've been well impressed so far. Even more so now I've seen what you're doing with those tiny figures!
I've got some of the Valiant figures in 1/72; although they're apparently over scale for use with other figures. Like your Caesar ones, there is very little clean up needed, but being hard plastic that shouldn't be a problem and the level of detail is really excellent. I just hope I can get 'em looking as good as yours!
