"If in doubt, flat out". Centurion3RTR

Hi all, the only green and brown in this build is the scenery. Got to be a good lad because it's not armour so got to keep it clean (what have i let myself in for). Right, the subject. Colin McRae was a legend and i thought it was time i did a little tribute to this great man, plus it was time i did a model that had some colour on it other than "green and brown". The model, well what can i say it's Tamiya so it'll build into a nice model. A mate of mine is into modified cars and had a car in the some colour as the 1998 Subaru, he's just given me some Blue Mica so i havn't got that to worry about.

    Have fun, John

Brilliant man and a sad loss...

I have this same kit, so will be interested to see what magic you do with it (probably with the result that I'll sell mine in frustration lol)

Well, if i can find the figures (somewhere in the house) then it'll be in a dio and flat out lol. Going to see if i can get some spectators too and have a good model going.

A rally car can always be hidden under a degree of mud so you still get the chance to do some mat brown!!

Should be an enjoyable kit though, Tamiya cars always make into a lovely model.

At the mo i'm just cleaning the mold lines up on the bumpers, taken me all of five minutes. Richard mate, if i make a really big mistake it'll be time to find some Network Q decals and have lots on mud lol. But as you say they are a nice kit and will build straight from the box, i've just got to refrain from putting guns on it.

              Have fun, John

Guess where I'm typing this from?

I'm up a hill near Bergerac in S/W France and it's just hit 50/120 degrees outside and I'm having a cold beer in a Tabac typing this half pi++++!

Great subject John and a nice change.....Not my round again?

                See ya soon,

                CHEERS!!

Morning all, after playing about with a RC King Tiger (thanks again Ian) i forgot i have this on the bench. The rollcage is all together and ready for paint, right the paint, the stuff i got from a friend is 2K and a little on the thick side. If i was to use thin it down for the airbrush the solvent would kill the plastic, Vauxhall Arden Blue looks just about right so got a can of that. If you are out & about and see some Hycote Plastic Primer, grab it. I've got some for my bumper (real car lol) and thought i use a little on this build. It goe's on great and keeps all the detail.

                    Have fun, John

Great subject John I'll be looking forward to this he was a favorite of mine and the wifes, it was the only racing she would sit and watch with me. Wish we had that primer state side looks like it works nicely!

Where we go, i've stopped playing with the RC King Tiger and i've put USS Voyager down for ten minutes (yes, i'm still cutting the windows out) to get some work done on the Subaru. The rollcage is now painted but not glued in and i've found some figures, they'll need some work but will look great. The seats i had a problem with, well the decal i did anyway. It just wouldn't go onto the back so i had to find some mesh and spray some kind of pattern on, i think i've pulled it off. When the harness and body is on you'll not see much, i hope lol.

                        Have fun, John

Do you know where you got the Hycote primer? And is it cheaper than halfrauds? I use theirs at the moment but I tend to boycott them (long story) and even though it's a fraction of the price of tamiya primer it's still not cheap at £6.50 or so a can....

                              Thanks
