I'm doing this in 1/72 and just finishing the decals. I would caution you on the upper wing stencils and roundels. I applied the roundels first then the so step line and discovered an overlap that needed trimming with a scalpel on wing. Maybe I was applying them in the wrong position but I compared this against the Lightning at Cosford and couldn't see where I had gone wrong. I urge you to apply the no step stencil decal and the roundels after.

Did the No Step decal go underneath the roundel on your 1/48 version? When I did the 1/72 version the black line overlapped onto the roundel and needed trimming. There's a lot of decals to apply, eh?

Yes the no step did go under the roundel Rick, and your not kidding about a lot of decals
