Gern's ancient artillery

Hi Ian. Just a quick check. Am I OK to use this as a build for the Artillery SIG?

Hope so Tony. It'll give me summat easy to work on while I'm either waiting for paint to dry or figuring out how to solve the latest problem with my P47!

Thanks Ian. My last post to Tony crossed with yours. I'll start a build thread for it soon.

I was wondering if you would 'Go out on a tangent' for this build, and you haven't let me down.

Great choice, and nice to see something different.

Some of you may remember this one from last year:

This is a Zvezda kit too and I really enjoyed the build. No complicated or poor fitting assembly and some excellent detail on the figures - which is why I want to have a go at the complementary set. I'll probably start a thread tomorrow.

I already posted the box and sprue shots for this in the discussion section (don't know whether you want to transfer them Ian?).

I primed the sprues last night with Halfords Grey, here's the result of the first 30 minutes. I won't be posting many shots of the kit build as there's only a handful of parts. Clean up is simple as there's so little to do - although flash and mould seams need to be cut away rather than scraped as the plastic is soft.

According to the box, this was called a Ribaudequin - a sort of early Gatling gun:

The only fiddly bit was drilling out the barrels.

Half term this week, so some progress:

Doesn't look much, but I used all of these to get this far:

Just noticed the figure holding the horse - I've not done his belt or the small bag on it.

I'll give them a coat of varnish and a wash. I can't imagine them having a laundrette nearby so it's unlikely their clothes would be this clean.

That's a fair amount of paint work in those figures, nice work Dave.
