    Dave W's Tiger Meet F15E

This is my kit for this Sig.A work mate gave it to me.He bought it to build with his young son.But the son lost interest after removing some of the parts from the sprues.Ive had a good look and it all seems to be there. There were a few toy soldiers and Lego bricks in the box,but I gave those back!.Not the best Tiger scheme, but it was free and Ive been looking for an excuse to build it.It looks like one of Revell/Monograms better kits.Engraved panel lines and some nice details on the exhaust nozzles. The only negative with the kit is there are no bombs provided.Something I reckon no self respecting F15E model should be without. But they wouldn't have been carried at the tiger meet anyway.i won't be starting straight away as Ive an Italeri 1/48 Sea Hurricane at the painting stage and a half built Revell 1/48 Ventura to finish first.

That should look good when you have worked your magic on it.

Yo I find it does tend to lead to mis-haps.

          Cheers.

Made a start on this a few nights ago.Got the cockpit and forward fuselage together plus the intake ducting halves joined as well.Im still painting the ejection seats and will leave them out until the end to avoid damaging them.Forget all the bad things you've heard about Revell. This is a very nice kit.The cockpits are very nicely detailed. Those of you with better brush painting skills than me could turn it into something special. So far everything fits together really well.

Done a bit more this evening.Sanded the joins inside the intake ducting and repainted. Then I attached the compressor blades and glued the intakes into the lower fuselage half.I also cut up some lead flashing and glued it into the nose and the forward fuselage to make sure this one isn't a tail sitter.

Next I glued the top fuselage half to the lower half. Then I attached the wings. This kit has been designed in such a way that there are minimal seams to clean up.Modern jets are not my normal fare,I usually build WW2 aircraft. And if I hadn't been given this kit I doubt I would ever have bought one.But I'm very impressed with it and enjoying building it.
