The office is done with just a few little bits to add once it has been fiited in to the plane. The fitting how ever is proving to be a headache!!! I have sanded the side walls of the tub to within 0.01 of there life and it lokks like the aircraft side wall are going to have the same treatment. I have also managed to crack the lower half of the body. So all in all I am having fun ........NOT!!!!

I had joined the two fuselage sections together (dry fitting first) however when I got home from work today I had two big gaps either side. I decided rather than try filling them as was to split the two sections again. Once apart I ground the cockpit base down again and got the two halves to close up properly. Now all I have to do is fill and rub down as there is a step in the joins where the cockpit area is. Now I have two choices as I see: scribe the panel lines in that will be lost or do away with some of them. Any suggestions would be great.

After a lot of rubbing down and rescribing panel lines I think it is nearly ready for the proper primer coat

I have primed it and I think that is as good as I am going to get the sides along the cockpit. Although the lip has gone you can still see a fault.

I am now thinking of painting all over black and then masking out the tiger stripes before going over in yellow. My thinking behind this ia that when you look at the real one it looks to me as though it is yellow over black. Also it would have been cheaper to paint it all black then gp over it with the more expensive paint. Any thoughts anyone?

Mmmmm..... I don't know if that can help you, but I paint the principal color first (orange in my case) and now will paint the stripes in black (but mine is a car,so is much small than your build).

Just can say, I'm afraid to mask the existence paint, and once do it the stripes, the mask damage my work.... will try to do at 'free hand'

And, this bird is looking very good!!

                      Cheers

I am undecided Polux and I know where your coming from when you say about the principal colour first. Maybe that is the safest and best option
