I finally found the time to set up my airbrush kit and blast through my backlog. So the cockpit, wheel bay and a few other bits were primed today using Vallejo grey acrylic primer - I might have to pinch Steve Kir's trick and add a drop of black or red to tint the primer because it's remarkably similar in colour to the plastic.

I re sprayed the sub assemblies of this today too with the tinted primer. Then I got carried away and did the wings and fuselage followed by a bit of pre-shading. I figured that it might be easier to do on a 1/24 scale model and while the large parts were still on the sprues. Pre-shading is not for me normally but I thought I should at least have a go.

I remember this when it first came out in the 70's when it was the bees knees. Way better than the 109 and Spit that preceded it. You are doing a great job Rick. Be interesting to see how it comes together.

I painted some parts of the cockpit Aluminium then applied Maskol here and there before giving it a coat of Interior Green, the sidewalls and LG compartments were also done.

I think I thinned the paint too much though as it doesn't look quite right.

I over did it removing the Maskol in places and went through to the plastic, oooops!

Pit looks good to me. I've always liked the worn / tired look.

                Hi Rick

The office looks great and the kit looks nice to put together. Looking forward to the progress on the Hurri.

                Cheers

I got one of the wings together tonight plus a few other smaller bits. What a lousy fit on the wing tip!

At least it's easy to fix Rick. Nice rounded edges, no panel lines to worry about on the tips.

                      The cockpit looks fantastic!

Got the wings closed up and sanded the leading edges then a touch of primer when they are fitted to the fuselage to see if they are smooth.

If anyone is building one of these I recommend filing the attachment tabs of the tail planes to make then fit the slot on the tail, they are too thick.

Does anyone have part number 1 for this kit going spare? It's the bit the exhausts are mounted to if you are not building the engine for show.

                          Thanks.

What is the disc on the the thin strap next to the left hand shoulder strap and which way should it be formed? The instructions from Eduard are not clear.

I've made a bit of progress with the instrument panel and seat belts.
