thanks for the comments chaps.

Had to scratch a few items like antenna and the Wire Strike assemblies as the kit parts were a little too mis-moulded to salvage.

Got the base coat on and have all the doors etc attached, have given it a drybrush of gunmetal and dark brown to simulate a tough mission, but not too much as to make it look like its been battered about.

Have reclaimed an old diorama base and tidied it up to make it suitable for this chopper to sit on... it'll be sitting there doors open with some apparatus on the tarmac ready to be loaded on board.

Am scratching a few extra bits for the diorama .. wheelchair, rescue-board etc.

There seemed to be lots of bits for this kit but when you get down to building it there are lots of parts that aren't used (in fact one sprue with over 60 parts has only three bits used in this model).

The good thing is there'll be loads for the spares box and there's stuff such as gas bottles etc that i can use in this build.

Thanks chaps, getting close to the finish line now and i'm quite enjoying it, my experience of helicopters runs to failed attempts when young (one of which that i was pleased with ... i sat on like a idiot ), the revel Huey Hog (a nightmare to build) and a Blackhawk which i melted and mutilated to form the "blackhawk down" diorama.

I took the basic size from the originals and did some t'intergoogling to see what improvements i could attempt.

I think i just got a dodgy sprue (It was sort of "twisted" mid point so only half of it was moulded "offset" and the other bits were either OK or not needed in the build)

Great work - it's looking like a helicopter - unlike my box of bits !

Well after a sabbatical due to loss of momentum in "mojo-ness" i've finally got around to getting it together enough to finish this off, all-be-it a little late ... sorry boss

Today i got the decals added, cut/painted/fitted the orange security tabs and sheeting and finished off the accessories (the bottles came with the kit but the stretcher was adjusted by adding handles and the wheelchair was scratch built)

                        Hope you like

That is very nice indeed Colin. Nice workmanship.

I also find mojo does fluctuate. After moving properties I am just beginning to wind up again hope my latest turns out as a top job like this.

Looks a nice model to build. Lots going on & I like that.

Laurie ... thank you, hope you get back on track soon.

Ian ... I interpreted the bike wheel as the large wheel from a chair and went with that, it was easier too ..thanks mate.

Ole ... Glad you like it, and yes, its nice to have a bit of "interest" again.
