Things are moving along .............. As we all know I am rubbish with a camera.

All the bodywork is ready for it's first coat, frame halves are painted ............ and all the modifications and scratch parts are finished apart from a few detail bits.

Swinging Arm, rear brake and chain & sprocket.

Engine is ready for detailing ....... That's next.

and the front forks are "work in progress" The front mudguard is re-profiled .......... and I decided to scratch some fork gaiters.

Frame halves are chopped down to take the Single Seat Unit and Centre Stand lugs are off........ and painted. I've decided the bike is going to be Black...... Haven't decided yet if the bodywork will be Matt or Satin. We will see........ But the frame, forks and wheels are going Matt....... The inly shiny bits will probably be brake discs and braded hoses (they might get a Matt coat as well) ....... Most of the detail is Gunmetal. I did try Titanium Silver for the fastenings on the frame but it was too much so they are in Gunmetal.......... They don't show up too well in the photo.

I'm watching intently Peter, hoping to pick up a few tips. I love all of the scratch building. I also like the sound of the matt finish.

I toyed with a lot of different ideas ............. Nearly settled on Gunmetal for the bodywork with Dayglo wheels. But a coat on one wheel looked nasty and really did not suit the "Suzuki GS Wheels"...... Too bright, ok on a GP bike but not this.

The wheels and brakes are done.............and the rear wheel is in the swinging arm. I'm not too happy with the paint finish on the swinging arm so I think it needs to come apart and be re-done.

The rivets on the front floating discs are titanium gold ........... But they don't show up in my rubbish photography.

All this lot is now black ............ Primer, a spot or two more filler, some more sanding, another light coat of primer and two coats of flat black........ The modified seat and tailpiece has come out rather well and the Flat Black contrasts well with the Semi Gloss on the seat.

...... and now it's all smooth as that proverbial baby's backside............... The only major task now is detailing the front callipers and hangers.

I'm not sure if I ought to put the white "Suzuki" decal on the tank or leave it yet............ Maybe just small "Yoshimura" decal strategically placed somewhere.

I can start putting some of this thing together now.

I'm glad I'm doing my build as a scrap yard diorama no need for all that filling and sanding to make it all super smooth. But some great work Peter looking forward to more

Well from what I've seen so far of the Honda Ian.......... You are doing very nicely making it look like crap (In the nicest way I have to add).

I love the subtle contrast you get between flat and semi gloss black. You're really making progress now Peter.

I'm realizing I need to get a wiggle on with mine.

Front wheel is in the forks and bottom yoke is on. Braided brake lines next ......... They are a real mission.
