Thanks Chaps,

Got a little bit more done over the last few days. She's taking shape but the progress is slow. I'm having a great time building it though, the level of detail in the kit is pretty impressive.

and the rear wheel ready for paint. It took ages to remove the untidy seam through the middle but is should look OK.

        Thanks for looking

Thanks Polux, the instructions said to paint the chain titanium silver but it was far too bright IMHO. So it got a coat of gun metal an oily wash and then drybrushed with some flat aluminum. Looks a bit more lifelike now I think.

Just a quick update. Got the exhausts weathered last night! I used one of these Tamiya pastel kits and I was pretty well satisfied with the results. I think you can get equally good results with an airbrush and clear blue and orange but hey I'll try anything once.

Fitted two of them, the other two will have to wait for the fairings as they are secured under the seat. Oh and I'm trying out a new all white backdrop...

Very very nice progress Jason. The detail you've got there is outstanding.

Just bought my first bike kit and after seeing this I'm really looking forward to it. I've got the YZR-M1 in Yamaha 50th anniversary colours (yellow). Got a few bits of after market too so should build up nice.

Looking forward to the finished thing. Keep up the great work

                          Paul
