It is the new tool (2011) kit Monica. The old Zero had rivet rash. It was reboxed last year in the Pearl Harbor scheme.

hi Joe and Barry, thank you for the info, could not find that any were ,that it was a retooled one,

well the 1st off the mth and reopened the box,

and made a start undercoated and started the cockpit, sorry phone camera hard to get close up with,

but to my horror ,I,discover no decals oh my ops: so the cockpit is missing them

need second coat of color on the cockpit but think its not a bad match going from the picture i found

will try again with pics ops:

Awesome work on the shark and nice start to the Zero Monica. Wouldn't want to see your version of a large fish if that is a small fish then!

well not much real done today but some think any way, ops:

gave the zero its 1st coat off color , I dont think it is to far off , so hard to match the japanese paint

the gray lead in the panle lines did not show as i was hoping for it too ops:

                      but hears were I,m att,

I guess this guy isn't going to get fish and chips for tea? Nice sculpting work Monica. I'm not sure a fighter like the Zero would have carried a life raft, normally the pilot would have been limited to a life jacket/preserver. Not to say though that he hasn't been thrown a raft from a rescue aircraft, or Tony's float plane hasn't pulled up alongside and thrown one out. Either way he won't have a raft for long if Jaws gets his way

Well I tried a search, and one site describing how the Americans got their hands on their first flyable Zero describes that "The pilot had a parachute and a life raft.โ€ So all good to stay as it is I reckon. http://www.texasflyinglegends.org/kogas-zero
