Any aircraft whose primary role is for reconnaissance or gathering information is good - maritime, ELINT, AWACS, photographic, AEW - even a Tornado GR1a fits the bill.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Well j would like to join this if possible. My modern jet ( entry ) is in the garage awaiting mojo to come back. Any way I not long ago watched the" eye in the sky" with Helen Mirren.

Does a reaper count ( drone) spy plane unmanned?

      regards

I'm in with a Canberra PR.9, much quicker than my only other spy alternative (the P-3)

Can an Arado Ar 234 in 1/32 by Fly count?

It was a bomber, but did recon as well

Have to wait for an official judgement on that one I suspect John, but it says it's a reconnaissance bomber. To my way of thinking that's the same thing as a Canberra bomber converted for PR.

But if I build it, it will be with the bombs, which puts it "on the fence"

                    Yes and no

The Ar 234 could be armed at times for bombing missions or camera missions.

The above list isn't exhaustive, something like a Buccaneer or Jaguar with a reconnaissance pod bolted on would be acceptable for example. You might be stretching the definition with the Arado but the more the merrier as far as I am concerned. Build away mate.
