The title for the builds in the set calendar are, set as lose as they can be, so that the members can interpret the theme in their own way, as long as it has relevance to the theme.
If I have to give a thumbs up for every subject on the set calendar, I can only assume the idea is not as good as we had hoped.
A quick run down the set build calendar. These are MY interpretations of the title/theme:

Attack helicopters: A helicopter that was designed to attack a target directly. (not a troop transport or cargo chopper).
Allied Tanks: A tracked armoured thing with a big gun in/on it.

Air craft of the Cold War: Any aircraft from either side that was active during the cold war period.(1945-1980's)
Military Ambulance: Any military transport used to carry injured people  that has a big red cross sigh on it. army navy, airforce....

Muscle cars: American muscle cars; big car, big motor, crap handling in corners. I would also allow European type custom cars. Just NOT Uber super sports cars like Ferrari or Lambo's Bugatti.   ( whole other build idea there....)

As for the other Civilian based builds. any of them can be pretty much anything as long as owned by a private civilian and not a military organisation.

My personal build plan for 2017 includes a 1/48 helicopter, either a Sea King HAR3, Wessex HU5 or CH34 so I'm going to have to rule out joining the attack helicopter GB. I also note the Aircraft of the Cold War GB is very broad in definition so I could slip them in there. I also have a Harrier GR3 and F106 Delta Dart in my 2017 plan.

There are two nominated GB's that feature the EE Lightning and MD Phantom, both of these are also Cold War era aircraft.

I think there are plenty of options for me here.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Would a hospital ship qualify as a military ambulance??.

                    Rik,

I had one just like that back in my teens and it was a blast to drive. My one regret is that I sold it prior to joining the military.

Do you have any photo's of it? If so. I'd love to see them.

                        Hi all, I'm back again.

looking at this list I am defo getting back into the hobby. I have kits to do dual builds of each category, apart from tanks.

Thanks for the motivation to dust off the bench

                          Rik,

Somewhere buried in my mom's attic if she still has them along with all the pictures of my youth. I'll take a  look.

Thanks Ray. It'd be interesting to see them. Might even make a model of your old car if it's ok with you.
