Well its nearly finished now there’s some super detailing to be done on the brake lines with foil insulation a bit of painting to the engine fod covers for the radiator intakes and a few extra lines and cables and lining marks for the brake assemblies and a general clean up etc

I have a black display base which should contrast with the red and white colour scheme of the car and make it stand out this in turn will have a perspex cover on top of it to keep out the dust

Well the monocoque is finished and I have to say this is the first polictally correct model I have built as well
Let me explain during the era of this car tobaco sponsership was the trend and McLaren was Marlboro but like I said the model does not come with these decals intact what they have done is supply the wording in individual lettering for you to create the decals yourself if you wish this applies to the body panel as well
So onto the final deatiling for this section
1) Painted various parts of the engine to clean up and add more detail
2) Foil wrapped the brake pipe leads
3) Added a curly lead type wireless from the steering wheel
4) Additional red leads from the radiators
5) Marlboro sponsership decals added where needed
6) Added fod guards to radiators
Next will be the outer panels /bodywork

This is it folks its finished all decals applied bodywork attached to monocoque overall a great model with a few niggly and sometimes bewildering way of doing things one thing I can say is that the waterslide decals are the best I have ever used hope you have enjoyed this journal its now back to the lancaster bomber
