Hi Fernando
I missed the start of this - sorry. For a simple small truck the parts count looks high. Despite the kits problems you have done a fine job. The dash looks excellent with your scratching.

Nice to see you fit and well again mate. The dash is the DB's and a wonderful addition to the build. The paintwork has come out well and you now you have a wonderful base to work from. Looking forward to seeing the next update

Evening all,

Colin, Lee, Si and Steve thanks guys.:thumb2:
Paul, thanks:thumb2: and although the roof looks ready for it sadly none, Trumpeter has an armored cab variant with MG ring.:smiling:
Greg, thank you :thumb2:,sorry to dampen your expectations but this one will simply be OOB with a little dusting for weathering, the end of the GB is getting near.:tongue-out3:
Jim, thank you too:thumb2: and don't worry about it I miss a lot of treads and updates too...
The kit is pretty easy BTW, although a bit complex for the novice, if you've built a couple of trucks this one won't give any serious problems.

Right, on with the painting: after the base coat it was time to start with the camo pattern, Ammo's black first followed by their Nato brown.
All mixed 50/50 (paint/thinner) and sprayed with a 0.15mm needle at 1 Bar pressure:

Then most of the pattern was covered by Nato light, Dark grey blue and Burnt umber from Vallejo's Nato Armour Colors set 78.413:

As I've seen similar colors on operational Dutch army vehicles with the standard CARC paints on and I like it, this set is my standard for a Nato 3 tone finish.:nerd:
A bit light in the photo, with two coats of gloss on for the wash it'll be toned down.:smiling:
Here're the used colors with their thinners:

Now just have to wait a couple of days more to give the VJ gloss a proper dry and then it's on to detail painting and decals.:smiling4:

Thanks for looking in and have a great week everyone.
Fernando

Fernando.
Sorry mate I missed the start of this. Have no doubt It will be up to your normal high standards,............. the build and paint photos prove that. Like the idea of doing thin coats, I must do the same. Camo is most effective. :thumb2:

Terrific work on the camo. Will it be heavily weathered or just as is??

Good evening all,

Paul, thanks I always love to have a crack at a nice camo job.:thumb2:

John, thank you:thumb2: and nothing to be sorry about I miss a lot too….:upside:

Steve, thank you too:thumb2: and just a little dusting here and there:smiling4:, see below.

When the second gloss coat was dry, it was time to put in the detail paint work mainly the indicators.
Found out this year that a base coat of Revell 90 or another silver followed by Gunze clears give an indicator look I much like so that is standard for me with each build.

After that it was time to put the decals on, followed by a little Dark Brown wash of A.Mig-1005, all over coated with VJ matt for protection.
With the matt dry it was time to remove the masking and then disaster struck….. when removing the windshield mask the knife moved over the clear part…..whoops from now on the crack is part of the weathering.:worried::smiling5:

A thin layer of dusting was applied with VJ 71.323 BS Dark Earth sprayed on, most around the wheels and since the windshield was cracked I made a mask to the wiper pattern and lightly sprayed around it.

Had great help from mother nature this morning with the sun shining, so here are the first set of photo’s:

Will make a second set one of these days to put in the appropriate ''complete'' folder.
Thanks for looking in and have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Terrific build Fernando. I like the hand written stuff. Was that with the kit or done by your own fair hand??
