In a weird kind of way yep !, that feeling of satisfaction when you lift a run of the jig and they are all joined together , more a sense of relief i suppose !!! but when they not - aRRGFGGGGGGHHHH
8 runs of 10 complete, only another 12 to go !!!!. What i have noticed is on some sprues the 'nibs' on the inner connectors look like they are moulded into the connector (circled in red), so require cutting higher up the attachment point and more gentle sanding, of the 80 links i have only damaged, so far, 6 - still usable, but will need gluing into place.
Lost the will to live with the trummpy tracks, to many broke when removing from the sprue, removing the hole and creating a gap, which the pin wont stay in, also quite a few wouldn't, for love nor money, line up on the jig . So last night it was out with the masking tape and line up the Takom tracks ready for some glue tonight. Will tack the wheels in place with some white glue and fix the tracks in place and hopefully the whole lot will detach as one unit, well that's the theory anyway
Just caught up with this Steve and it looks a very interesting project indeed.
Those track links look very intricate too. I have some workable tracks for my panzer Iv Lang but that's for another day.
I'll be arching this from here on in
Regards
Took a bit of a break from the Shilka and cracked on with this one, must say the plastic is loads better on this takom kit than Mengs Shilka, you can cut right up to the part with some sprue cutters on Takoms kit, try it on Mengs Shilka and you just seem to rip chunks out of the part,
Anyway - top plate has been fixed to the chassis tub and started work on the fenders, can be built away from the body and added once completed. Some nice etch and the clasps on the tool boxes are excellent.
