    so i tried this preshading malarky after all, then a sandy coloured top coat

    not sure what order i shall do things next, probably tracks, sides, clear coat, decals, wash ,matt coat, weathering, then scab on the greeblies

        Pre-shading looks good Paul. Nothing to stop you post shading with a slightly lightened main colour if you wanted to highlight some of the top panels.

          had an oil wash and then a coat of matt varnish.....next step is some sand in the nooks and crannies
