Anneliese belonged to the 503. sPzAbt. and was one of the two Tiger II "Porsche" which survived to the summer 1944 France campaign. It was moved, with the rest of the unit, to Hungary in September 1944. The "famous" pictures of Anneliese show it during maintenance around Chistmas-New year 1944-45 in Hungary as a heavily withewashed vehicle.

In fact, most people now believe that Annalise was painted white at the factory & was quite literally completely white, as opposed to a field application that would have chipped and/or faded.

Worth thinking about for historical accuracy
so very glad that you popped in Patrick, always look forward to ,getting some new facts,
very interesting what your saying as I did come across some, pics,of a fully white sprayed king, but it did not show the turret number,
so could very well be the one your saying 503,
and also came across one ,other that I did like which was a gray/white scream,
which I did real like, ? what would you think about that,?could not save the pic,
and also there is a few new kits out showing an all white como,

The one on the Dragon box art is supposed to be Annalise. The other photo you've posted isn't one in a whitewash - many older pictures show a big contrast between the black and white tones which make it look like it's a white tank.

The Germans rarely used whitewash, much less than the Russians.

I think that's an oil or cleaning spray rather than a paint spray.

I have one of those, used for cleaning full-size engines, and in the right lighting anything sprayed from it will look white.

The 2nd picture probably relates to this one

A scene from a field workshop before the tanks went to the front line in Normandy. You can see the crewman on the upper hull is holding the same spray gun.

Do be very careful when trying to interpret 70 year old photos because without any provenance to back them up, we can only guess at who or what they are.

Here's a picture of Annalise

It doesn't help that some old monochrome film didn't reproduce colours in the appropriate shades of grey, so for example red comes out as white.

it is so hard to work out,the color, but one thing we do know is she was sprayed, white,in Normandy, before moving to hungary,
