    You're going great guns on this one Ian! It's looking really good.

    I must start my Eduard Phantom... but planes are so frustrating to a tankie!

        Nice work so far Ian. You had your work cut out for you with the rescribing but it's looking A1.

          Thanks Joe, when I'm in the mood I find it quite relaxing.

            Looking very good there Ian. Great job on the cockpit and I think it looks good with the canopy open.

              Got some more done to this one

              The petot tubes are all bent and snapping off, and I need to replace them.
              And my good mate Tony ( Yakface ) made and supplied me with some.
              Many thanks Tony.

              They should look great.

                  Being in primer it really shows up your re-scribing skills Ian. Everything is so straight & true, top class work sir!

                          Right got some more done to this one. Like I said at the start of this one, I'm going to try the black basing technique.
                          First of all you paint it all black

                          Then using the base colour ( in this case white ) thinned to around 60 thinners 40 paint you spray random patterns on the black, the tighter the better.
                          Then when that's done you thin the colour again to around 80 thinners to 20 paint then giving the subject several thin coats of the paint until you get the effect you want. This is after 4 coats.

                          And these are after around 8 coats.

                          I hope you can see the random mottling that your meant to get.
                          All this is meant to be a better effect than panel lining in black.
                          This being my first time doing it I think it does look better than the panel line method.
                          What do you guys think ?
                          This picture should have been first

                            I like it Ian, it gives a subtle yet effective look.

                                Right colour call outs,
                                Revell says
                                M= dark green 90% olive green 10%
                                L= olive green 80% greyish green 20%
                                K= beige 80% brown 20%
                                Anybody know a single colour call out for them.
