    Here is the result of this evening's work - the first oil paint has been applied on the jacket and face. Off to the airing cupboard.

          Hi Brad

          At this scale I cannot get acrylics to blend smoothly so I tried this technique which seems to work ok.

          It has two weaknesses - the drying time (which is why I am working on more than one at a time), and the risk of paint building up and losing details. A particular risk around the eyes.

              Thank you. I convinced my wife to let me take some photos of her wearing a large scarf, they worked nicely as reference photos.

                Peter, if it works for you then that's great, I can't get either to work.. lol, great stuff though.

                      As always, it is painted using artist's oils over a base of acrylic.
