Peter - very kind. Not a patch on your painting skills though!
Tim, Steven, Steve - thanks
Jim - I scratch built the plinth in plastic card then moulded it. I can just cast them off whenever I need one now

last night I made up the base
for speed I used VJ sandy paste (it dries quite quickly) for the ground and pressed in some WWS static grass with ground scatter - appears to have worked ok
what I forgot to do was prime and paint the plinth first :rolling: so that could be fun trying to do without ruining the grass
the eagle eyed will see that I have repainted the oil drum - I wasn't happy with the rust as it was too close in colour to the leather jacket and it all sort of merged together
the barrel is now red with an attempt at the Shell aviation spirit logo painted on the rear
still need to finish off the flesh areas and his shirt
Apologies simon , ive only just caught up with this one (typically just as its about finished!). Super job mate , figures are not my strong point but i recently got a taste for the old Airfix 54mm jobbies and even though my efforts are very basic i really enjoy them .Yours is looking excellent , great fixes with the bat and hand , cheers tony
That's ok Tony. I have a stack of those Airfix kits in the stash - pikeman, musketeer, George Washington, Legionnaire, 95th Rifles, Imperial Guard etc along with a lot of Multipose WW2.
Figures are not my strong point either but I did rather enjoy this one - except the cricket jersey which has been re-done at least six times
Well I can report that this one is now finished and on the appointed day, with a whole hour to spare, even though posting is a bit late
Really lovely bit of work Si.The figure looks great and all the little bits like the bat and Shell logo are done beautifully.Top bit of groundwork too.
Jon.
