All looking very nice Dave. I think I've only built two helicopters. I must make more of an effort.

Coming together, engine added, and basecoated - the 'bubble' is just about finished.....................

I was curious about the scale of this model - some of the Heller Alouette III models are quoted at 1/48 and 1/50. Just by the rotor diameter of the model, and the real dimension from Wikipedia, it comes to exactly 1/50! I would defy anyone to spot the difference between 1/48 & 1/50 in a stand alone model!

John,
nope, painted freehand with a hairy stick, then any overpaint removed using a sharpened wooden cocktail stick. This works with acrylics - I wouldn't like to try it with enamels!

The 'bubble' is fitted to the skids and boom - missing are the aerials, they're fragile, and will be the last to be fitted
Engine detail painting next, then adding the engine bracing struts will complete the body, with just the rotors left

I'm really struggling for benchtime with this hot weather - it's reduced my enthusiasm!
Still the Alouette proceeds - next decals, all 6 of them. Then the final act of adding the main rotors and aerials..................
No weathering, not a lot of structure to apply it to!
I think the next pictures will be appearing in the completed section!

Dave i totally agree with you on this hot weather it's reduced my bench time as well, i just feel lifeless at times, put my glasses on and i sweat round the eyes, paint is taking longer to dry.

Anyway great work Dave it looks very nice.

Steve.
