Been finishing off the last few bits and pieces, got the tanks/missiles installed on the wings and all the various lights painted and attached.

Also added a few bits to the inside of the canopy, some rails and 5 tiny rearview mirrors.

I also started working on the base. Rather than go with a picture frame I cut up some plywood and moulding and made my own. The corners were a bit rough so needed some filler. I guess that's what you get for using a chop saw on small bits of wood.

      Bob.
Nothing wrong with using a chop saw for that frame size, any problem would caused by the no of teeth on the blade if the finish was rough.
The canopy looks very clean, have you polished it ?
      John.

          Cheers Gents.

John, thanks for the advice on the saw, if I end up dong a lot of these I will invest in a different blade, or just use a manual saw and mitre block. No, the canopy wasnt polished, and I also forgot to dip it in clear so it's as it came out of the box. I did wipe the fingerprints off though. :smiling:

Been working on the base today. Just given it a gloss coat so I can go in with some oils tomorrow, but this is the progress so far.

Now weathered with a starship filth oil wash and looking more like I envisaged.

                Hi Bob
Missing part looks fine. The finish you have achieved is really nice. Base will set it off a treat. What did you use for the concrete slabs? Five mirrors!! - a very steady hand!
                Jim

                  Cheers Jim.

I just poured a base of tile grout then scribed it when dry.

Finally done. Finished pics here: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/thread...f-3-adv.31314/

I said this with the F-15E, this is definitely the last Revell kit I'm building. Too many fit issues, poor instructions, missing parts and oh so much flash.
